Morning Walk - CO

We decided to take a family trip to Colorado this summer. The last time we were in the mountains, I was 2 months pregnant with Brode. We ventured out on a morning walk (notice Brode is still in his p.j.'s) when we stumbled upon... Wapiti aka Elk!
As you can see, we were very close to the elk. There was a small herd of females and their babies. Brode wouldn't stop pointing at the elk and wanted to run right up to them. =)

Again, notice how close we were with these pictures!! It was an exciting morning! 
After viewing the elk, we walked a little further and came to this beautiful lake. I grew up going to Colorado and never once ventured out to this spot. It was breath taking. 

For those of you that have seen Brode run, you know that he is a fast little booger. He'll just take off and literally fly! In this video, Brode is making silly motions in order to see his shadow. He's my little Peter Pan! =)
