Fourth of July

Smoke Balls. Snaps. Rockets. BOOM. The four things Brode most enjoyed on Independence Day.
Here, Brode is imitating his Dadda with a Rocket of his own. Of course, we did NOT let him light ANY fireworks off on his own. He would stand back and watch in awe as his Dadda lit some off.
Here is Brode again watching fireworks in astonishment. He was most amazed by the colorful smoke, beautiful flashes of light, and loud BOOMS! The pic with Brode standing between his Daddy's legs is when he was a little bit bashful and hesitant at what was to come.
Brode also spent a lot of his day riding in this little red wagon. Daddy got a work out in because he pulled both Mommy AND Brode around the block several times!!  All three of us even piled in and "flew" down the hill right in front of the house.
This is not the best picture, of course, but Mommy doesn't get very many pics of herself and Brode. Here we are sitting on the pavement as Daddy lit off some fireworks. What a fun day!

The video below shows Brode stomping on his "snaps." Brode learned how to perform this act by watching his cousins, Jagger and Kingston. It was absolutely adorable watching him jump up and down and stomp on these things... my favorite part of the day!! =)
