"Mommy, I'm so glad you could make it. Let me show you to your chair," said Brode. Yes, that is what my preschooler said to me as I entered his classroom for my very first Mother's Day Tea. What a priceless moment.
After Brode showed me to my seat, he handed me a letter of all the things that made him think of me. I also had a beautiful picture of "Mommy & Me" and beautiful flower straws. After all of the mommies were seated, the kids stood up and sang a handful of songs. He did awesome. I was so proud of him for singing AND doing the actions. Later that day, he looked at me grinning and said, "I won't ever do that again." Ah, boys.
When the songs ended, each child served their mommies lemonade and cookies. Then they presented us with a special gift. They closed the day with another song - a song the teachers said the kids "earned" because of their good behavior. It ended up being my favorite song.
Today was one of those days that I know I'll remember forever. I'm thankful Brode has teachers who not only love the children but care enough for the mommies to make them feel important, too. Motherhood is a blessing; a gift from God. And I am one lucky Mommy.

Looks like it's Katie I'd worry about and not Abby :)
