I'm Three!!

Happy Birthday, Brode James!!!

After the Fun in the Sun party, we celebrated Brode's 3rd birthday later that afternoon/night. Let me tell you... it was a busy, fun-filled day!
Brode has learned how to sing quite a few songs and one of his favorites has been "Happy Birthday." Once we started singing to him, he joined in and sang his own birthday song! It was so sweet!
Although I felt bad for not designing a more "perfect" cake, Brode absolutely LOVED his Cars themed cake. That made it all worth it... It was perfect for him.
Here is Brode taking a picture of his cake with his Cars cell phone.Brode LOVES bugs! This was part of a birthday gift, which included a magnifying glass, bug cage, a net, and a bug vacuum! He's already caught a butterfly, several spiders, and so much more (GROSS)!!! :)
Meet Alphie! Brode was excited to meet this little robot. Although he'll have to grow into some of the learning games, he's already impressed me with how much he knows.
This is another "grow into game" but Brode is catching on fast with his Leapster. He's already figuring it out and I won't be surprised if he's "racing" before long!
Ah! Our little soldier! If you remember a previous post where Brode was the Last Samurai, you'll understand how special this gift was for him! Just be careful... He will "Hi YAH!" you!!!

Our little Brode Bear,

I can't believe you've already turned three year's old. It seems like just yesterday when we brought you into this world, when you took your first steps, and when you started becoming your own little person.

I literally praise God for you every day, Son. I am already praying that God would grow you into a man of integrity, strength, and Godly wisdom. I am also praying for your wife, son. I pray that she displays Proverbs 31 attributes, that she loves Jesus with all of her heart, and loves, supports, and respects you completely. My prayer is that you both grow up, placing Christ above all and each other a close second.

I have enjoyed watching you grow, my baby boy. You are growing into a little boy... You've taught me how to love, forgive, and not hold grudges. You are teaching me how to be patient and I'm learning how to be the best Mommy for YOU.

Over the past year, you've learned how to talk up a storm, ask questions, and you have the best memory of any child I know! :) You've learned how to sing songs, write letters, color, and ride a tricycle all the way to the park! You've become more confident by the day. You are precious. You were potty trained by 2 yrs old. You use your manners! You are also the sweetest, most loving & caring big brother I could have asked for. The way you look after your baby brother astounds me. You are so precious with him. Little Brode, the list could go on and on.

Bottom line. I love you. Your family loves you. You have brought so much joy into our lives over the past three years and I'm so thankful God chose me to be your Mommy. We make quite a team and I simply adore you. I pray we have many more birthdays to celebrate together.
