Kids can also make mistakes. That's their sin nature, as is ours. But what is so precious about a child is their ability to take the discipline & move on... immediately. Adults tend to hold grudges, get hurt feelings, & hold onto it for longer than necessary. Kids are great examples of not letting "the sun go down on their anger." No matter what, they always wake up happy. And they always, always want that hug & smile from Mommy & Daddy - especially after discipline.
Kids don't have expectations of us (at least not how we do of them). They are only looking for someone to love & protect them, nurture them, be there for them, & of course play with them! But they don't care how it's done as long as they feel safe & secure. Adults have expectations - high expectations - of their children!! I have to constantly remind myself that Brode is only two year's old... TWO! Brode just loves me as I am - even when I make mistakes.
Kids are also capable of doing much. They are smart, they soak in all of the knowledge around them, & they practice what they learn. They are always growing. They also imitate us - our every word & action. This can be scary but as long as we are being imitators of Christ, let them mimic away!!
Kids have no fear. They will more than likely try anything... once. The older I get, the more fearful I've become- about many things. Brode wants to do everything & touch everything. Although I'm thankful they don't understand the dangers of this world yet, I'm also terrified by it.
There are so many more things we can learn from kids. We should take our "yawns" as a sign to go to bed! We should eat a snack when our tummy's are grumbling! We should venture out & try new things, meet new people - just like we force them to do. We should let loose, relax, and be carefree like we once were... There is no harm in acting like a kid every now & then right? I mean, really... we could all learn a lot from kids! :)
