Just like last week, the Brenham Cubs went into the locker room at half time feeling defeated by the Dayton Broncos, who had a two touchdown lead. Whatever was said behind closed doors must have been enough motivation to change the momentum - and the outcome - of the game.

The Cubs came back out on the field and quickly scored the two necessary touchdowns to remain in the game. Now trailing by 3, the Cubs knew they had to continue to score quickly. Only allowing Dayton to score 7 more points, the Cubs took the lead with two more touchdowns. Adding a safety to the scoreboard, allowed the Cubs to stay 6 points ahead and with only minutes remaining, the Cubs sealed the deal by getting a pick midfield and later ran the clock down. Cubs win 30-24 and officially become Regional Champs!

Success. Only a word to describe what the players, coaches, and fans were feeling.

For the fifth time in program history, the Cubs are advancing to the State semifinals this Saturday vs. Kerrville Tivy at 1 p.m. Winner moves on to the State Championship game.
