12 Months Old!

Brode had his 12-month well-check today. He checked out well; praise the Lord. He weighs 21 pounds and is 30.5 inches long! His weight is under average but his height is above average. His doc has no concerns, what-so-ever, though. He showed me a neat little trick to relieve "the grandparents who worry" (those were his words). If you can pinch 1 cm of fat underneath a baby's arm, then he has enough fat... Well, Brode passed the "test" and is growing just fine. We have an extremely active boy, too, so his weight gain will naturally slow down. His motor skills, verbal skills, etc. are also on track so Mommy & Daddy are pleased. Praise the Lord for another healthy well-check! 

Accomplishments up to 12 Months:

1. Walks (sometimes "runs") while holding onto furniture or moving objects. And once he hits something, he'll walk around the object and push it back, in the opposite direction! 

2. Has taken several steps on his own, but has to overcome his "fear" of falling... He's getting better every day!

3. Can place balls into holes of all shapes and sizes! Can also stack rings! Loves knocking over towers and banging blocks too!

4. Says more words, such as "Ni-ni" for night-night, "Buh" for bye-bye, "Huh" for hi, etc. 

5. Imitates practically everything you do... blinking, "winking," opening his mouth in awe, dancing, singing, hiding, fake laughing, holding a cell phone up to his ear, etc. 

6. Most favorite is when he hears a car drive by and he immediately waves bye-bye or when our garage door opens he opens his mouth in awe & shock! =)
