Stewart Beach

Brode didn't start school until after Labor Day this year, so we took it upon ourselves to have one last hurrah before summer was officially "over." Ever since moving back to Texas, the boys have been dying to go to the beach. Although it ain't no Cancun, we still have lots of fun at Stewart Beach, in Galveston. :)

When we arrived, the boys were so excited and hit it hard. They ran in & out, splashing in the waves. What a priceless moment. Their smiles, their laughter, the twinkle in their blue eyes... Then, poor little Brode got stung by a jellyfish! Yes! A JELLYFISH!! He was in so much pain, I thought our trip was ruined. Luckily the lifeguard had saline solution to clean it and he said the pain would subside in 10-15 minutes. It did.

Apparently the jellyfish were high in count the day we chose to go to the beach. Perfect. Bryson got stung next. His wasn't as severe, thankfully. Inevitably the boys weren't as eager to hit the waves running anymore. They played it very safe after that but still found ways to have fun by making sand castles and digging in the muddy water!  And, of course, Andrew had to catch as many jellyfish as he could.  He used the boys' buckets and caught 4-5 of them! They were neat little critters to watch when they weren't stinging one of my boys!
Upon our arrival - so excited!
Love this picture.
That's my boy!
Before we discovered jellyfish...
Brode hadn't been stung yet!
After the discovery of jellyfish...
Playing it safe on the beach.
The jellyfish were small - if you look closely you can see one.
What a way to end the day!
