Brode Turns Four

This year, Brode was able to pick which cake he wanted me to create from one of my cake books (thanks, Lyns)! After the big debate between the pirate ship and the space shuttle, he finally opted for this one. 

He was ALL smiles as we sang Happy Birthday.  Even Bryson joined in and giggled as Brode blew out the candles.  

 

I still can't believe my baby boy is four and on his way to starting pre-K. Where has the time gone?

I'd say this is a look of success after trying his first bites of cake! :)

Thankfully, Mimi & Papa have always flown down from Nebraska in order to help celebrate our son's birthday. This year was no exception. Brode enjoyed quality time with his grandparents and we were thrilled to have them join in the fun!

Brode has been wanting the Angry Bird game forever! He was all smiles when he opened it as a gift... As a matter of fact, he opened this one first and wanted to go upstairs for "quiet time" before opening another round of presents! I guess he would've been satisfied with just one! :)

Thank you Mimi, Papa, Newells, Ailes, and Grandma Pam for spoiling our son rotten with so many cool toys. We've been having so much fun playing each one.

I was so proud of Brode on his special day. He was so sweet to Bryson and let him open some of his presents (without my asking him to do so). I couldn't have been more proud of his selfless attitude on his birthday. See, Bryson sporting big brother's new shirt? :)

Happy 4th Birthday, Brode James! You have definitely grown up over the past year. And although you test me at times, I couldn't be more proud to have you as my son. You bring so much joy to my heart.  I'm sad to see you go to pre-K in the fall, but I know you are ready and the Lord is preparing my heart to set you free.  I am thankful God chose me to be your mommy.  Life just wouldn't be the same with out your smile, your laugh, you generosity towards Bryson, and your sensitive, sweet self. We are proud of you, baby boy!! :)
