Our family made the long journey from Houston, TX to Colorado this summer. It was a long drive but thankfully our boys are used to riding in the car and were great sports about the two day trip! We met up with my immediate family - My brother and his kids, my sister and her family, my little sis and her hubby, and even my parents. It was quite the reunion!
We typically vacation in Estes Park but this year we were blessed to share a 6000 sq. ft. cabin right outside of Breckenridge. We ventured on new hikes and expeditions and discovered old, abandoned log cabins (built from scratch) and even caved in mining shafts!
Because I grew up going to Colorado yearly, I enjoy seeing my boys in the familiarity of the mountains. They loved throwing rocks into the river, going on hikes, touching snow (I don't think Bryson has ever seen snow and Brode hasn't played in it for years), and Brode even crossed over a river on a log all by himself! There's just something about the mountains...
