We officially have a bucket list of all the things we'd like to do in the surrounding Houston area. Our first destination was Stewart Beach in Galveston. Andrew took the day off from work so we headed to the gulf and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. We pitched our umbrella, dumped our beach gear onto the sand, and spent the whole entire day relaxing.
The boys built sand castles, body surfed and let the waves knock them over, and we even collected sea shells. At one point, we (along with a few others) spotted a fin out in the deeper waters - dolphin or shark?? We weren't about to find out!!
The last time Andrew and I visited a beach was in Hawaii (4 years ago)!! This was a well-needed mini vacation and I'm SO grateful we were able to spend it together, as a family. Brode keeps asking if we can go back to the beach. There's just something about the sound of the waves, the taste of salt water, and sand beneath the toes...

That looks SO fun, Sarah! Glad you all were able to get away for a day at the beach!
