This year, we were blessed to spend Thanksgiving with my big sister, Jamie, and her family. We were so thankful that they took the time out of their busy lives in order to celebrate this holiday with us. We waited until the DAY OF to share this news with Brode. He was so excited for his cousins - and friends - to stay in his house! And I was so thankful to have family around for a whole week!
Of course, the time came for my sweet family to depart. I don't know why, but saying goodbye was a lot more difficult this time. My heart hurt for days and I'm still missing their company. I miss watching our children interacting so well together. I miss talking with my big sister about anything and everything. I simply miss home. I know my heart will heal and I know this is where we are supposed to be, for now, but sometimes it's just hard being so far from home. I'm thankful for such a close family that I can miss. I'm even more thankful that we are all believers and I'll be able to spend eternity with them in Heaven someday.
