A Thankful Heart

It's been awhile since my last post, so I figured today was a good day to tell you what I was thankful for this Thanksgiving.

First of all, my parents (bless their hearts) drove the long drive to help us celebrate Thanksgiving. It was our first Thanksgiving with visitors since we've moved to Texas. We couldn't have been more thankful. Brode was delighted to see them and still remembers his "Mimi & Papa." The older he's getting, the tougher the goodbyes are on him... he didn't know how to handle his emotions this time around. It was hard to see. So, I am very VERY thankful for my parents. They always put their children first, they always set aside time for us, and they are always there, always lending a hand, always there with words of advice & encouragement. I am very thankful to have Godly parents in my life, who love me just so.

I am also very thankful for the life God's blessed me with. I couldn't have picked a better soul mate & best friend to spend the rest of my life with. Andrew is a very good man to me and our boys. I was reminded of that this Thanksgiving. I have a lack of words. He is just that good to me.

I'm also so very blessed to have two healthy, precious, beautiful baby boys. Again, I don't know how to put it into words how thankful I am for Brode & Bryson. They are special gifts - gifts I will never take for granted. They always seem to have a way with me... they just melt my heart, make me smile, and are even there for me in ways I couldn't have imagined as a young child. I am so honored to be their Mother here on earth. I will gladly remain their Mommy until God calls one of us home. I praise HIM for my children!!!

I am thankful for the home we live in, the food we get to eat every day, the warm clothes, the warmth of our covers at night. I'm thankful for the friends God is blessing me with - it makes being far from home a little easier. Ah, and home... Texas is just my home away from home. My heart is still in Nebraska with my dear family. I'm so thankful for my precious sisters and big brother. I can't believe how close knit our family has become. I love them dearly and miss them always. I'm thankful that they take the time to come visit my family. It's just so selfless.

There are so many things to be thankful for this time of year. Those are just to name a few... I'm most definitely thankful for having Christ as the center of my life. Without Him, I wouldn't have any of these things to be thankful for.
