Cascarones!

Cascarones are blown out egg shells filled with confetti, sealed, then decorated with beautiful bring colors. During celebration times in Mexico, the eggs are smashed -gently of course- on the heads of friends.
A different use is to fill them with birdseed and hide them in the yard with the Easter Eggs. The child finding the eggs gets to smash them on someone's head.
Our friends brought these home from Cuero, TX and gave them to Brode to try. We didn't think it was such a good idea to introduce "smashing this on someone's head" so instead he was allowed to break them on the table outside and stomp on them. He still had a blast! ;)

Cuero got a shout out on the Shanle blog... I love it! I'm glad Brode had fun with them! Next year, Gage will be old enough to join in on the fun. :)
