AND I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss the trees changing colors and the leaves beginning to fall... Here? Still green. Palm trees still swaying in the muggy wind. Tropical flowers are even starting to bloom... WHAT?!
We had one day a couple of weeks ago where the weather was actually in the 60's (we loved this by the way). My friend emails me and tells me that all of her students walked into her classroom with winter coats, gloves, hats, and scarves on! HILARIOUS. I don't think they'd survive "the good life." ;) I don't even want to mention the young gentleman wearing a stocking cap two days ago when it was in the high 70's. Wow.
Okay, I'll stop "knocking" the weather here and enjoy the positives of it. We don't have to bundle up every time we walk out there door. Better yet, we don't have to bundle Brode up. We'll NEVER have to scrape snow - or ice - off of our windows. We don't have to turn our heater on during the winter months. We can wear our flip flops all year round.
Will it ever feel like Nebraska here? Not even close.
